2013 Banquet Program

FROM 475TH FG FOUNDATION PRESIDENT EMERITUS:

For those who missed the Nashville, 2013 Reunion, you really MISSED one. This was the first one not hosted by one of the old timers. . If any old heads had second thoughts about a second generation person being able to put on a reunion, that was just put to rest. This reunion hosted by Rhonda Rose, daughter of our famous Marvin Rose, has to rate among the very best. The banquet featured a full-blown, 1940s big band. The nostalgia was overwhelming and I, along with many others, could not stop the tears from swelling as they opened with the Glenn Miller favorite “In the Mood”. It brought us back to the good old days, when the people were united as never before for the well being of our beloved U.S of A. Rhonda had a dance floor installed and the music was so beautiful and compelling it propelled 90 plus year old veterans like Marvin, Howard Max, PJ Dahl and others onto the dance floor. Rhonda had administrative help from Dana Grossman, daughter of Barbara and Dale Thisted and what a team those two make. Dana will be hosting reunion 2114 featuring the Planes of Fame Air Show. God Bless the USA…PJ

AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

MEMORIAL SERVICE
IN MEMORIUM
We call your attention to the empty chair which occupies a place of dignity and honor. It represents all those members of the 475th Fighter Group who are no longer with us in body, but who will always be with us in spirit. We place upon the empty chair a symbol of honored remembrance which will symbolize the spirit of those warriors who have gone before us. Warriors who are gone, but never forgotten.

Dinner Blessing
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your creation of such a beautiful country in which we enjoy the freedom of choice. Forgive us our sins, Father. We know we are human and make mistakes and have sinned without our knowing it. Help us to make the right choices in life and direct us in all we do, say and think. Be with those members not here, comfort those who have lost loved ones, and heal those who are sick, all according to Your will.
We thank You for the opportunity to have served our country in the 475th Fighter Group, for all our accomplishments in helping to win World War II, and for those who waited for us at home, and for keeping our country free and at peace.  Guide our steps in the future. Accept our thanks now for the food and drink You have provided and for Your blessings on this meal. We ask these things in Your holy Name. Amen.

Benediction
May the strength of God sustain us;
May the power of God preserve us;
May the hand of God protect us;
May the way of God direct us;
May the love of God go with us;
May the Word of God teach us;
And may the Spirit of God comfort us.
Amen.
