Don Wiemer was a proud member of the 433rd Possum Fighter Squadron.
He graduated from New Brighton High School and attended Geneva College before joining the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served with the 475th Fighter Group stationed in New Guinea where he flew P-38’s escorting bombers against Japan. After separation from the service, Mr. Weimer returned to New Brighton. On August 15, 1947 he married Elizabeth Coleman Kirchner.
